From the Hills and Valleys of the North East — to Markets Across India and Beyond.
The North Eastern Region is a treasure trove waiting to be discovered — fiery Naga chillies, golden Assam lemons, aromatic Sikkim cardamom, exotic bamboo shoots, and dozens of Geographical Indication (GI)-tagged gems found nowhere else on Earth. Yet for too long, the farmers, cooperatives, and enterprises who grow and craft these products have remained hidden from the very markets that would celebrate them.
NE-RACE (North East Regional Agri Commodity E-Connect) is the region's dedicated digital marketplace — a single platform where farmers, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Self-Help Groups (SHGs), cooperatives, processors, and agri-enterprises showcase products spanning spices, fruits, organic produce, and GI-tagged specialties. On the other side, buyers, traders, exporters, and institutional purchasers from across India and abroad discover, connect, and trade — directly and transparently. All under the trusted umbrella of NERAMAC, ensuring every connection made on NE-RACE is credible, secure, and built to last.
NE-RACE was born from a vision shared by the North Eastern Council (NEC) and the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER), who have funded the platform since its inception. It was first brought to life by NEDFi (North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd.), which built and ran the platform for its first 1.6 years. In October 2025, the Ministry entrusted its next chapter to NERAMAC (North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation Ltd.) — a Government of India enterprise with deep roots in agricultural marketing across the North East.
With NERAMAC at the helm and continued support from NEC and MDoNER, NE-RACE is more than a marketplace — it's a movement to put the North East firmly on India's agricultural map. Every trade enquiry, every buyer-seller match, every product showcased is a step toward a stronger, self-reliant, and globally connected agricultural economy for the region.
